Panther of the Week:
LORI MACKEY

“Lori is the person who keeps the Admissions office going, and therefore the one who ensures that hundreds of talented, enthusiastic, and deserving young students see Middlebury at its best, apply, and are admitted.”

“Lori once set up special tour at 7 PM for a family that had travelled all the way from India and gotten lost, and so had missed the day’s events.”

“She is a boss and mentor to the students she works with, taking the time to know her workers’ majors and personal goals.”

“Lori is the office manager, and its under her caring eye that the Senior Fellows, student workers, tour guides, and counselors work to make sure that Midd is exposed to the world and vice-versa.”

Panther of the Week

SARAH SCUDATO
“Sarah has the incredible capacity for love, kindness and generosity; whenever I am struggling at Middlebury, she is the first to reach out to me with support and kind words.”

“Sarah has singlehandedly encouraged me to embrace all that Middlebury has to offer by constantly reminding me of the importance of being happy at Middlebury through engagement in community-building activities and balancing work with pleasure (a word she’s coined as “H.A.M.”)”

I greatly admire her dedication to the track & field team and positive attitude in the face of adversity. The summer prior to freshman year Sarah had surgery on her ACL. In light of this devastating circumstance, dedicated her time and energy into getting better and inspiring those around her in order to be able to achieve her goals on and off the track. She managed to stay positive in the face of her unfortunate circumstance with her effervescence and infectious, upbeat demeanor.

“Sarah has turned her enthusiasm for the show “Criminal Minds” into a passion for pursuing justice in the world. During her free time she has started a grassroots campaign researching serial killers, the Behavioral Analysis Unit of the FBI, and how she can spin this into a larger career in bringing about justice in the world. Sarah has also used this desire to attempt to create a safer community here at Midd through starting her own form of Middrides so that she can assure that her friends return home safely at night.”
